Toys from Junk (2012-0625)

As the weather was nice we held our circle in the willow dome. We started with news and names as we had a new Pixie: welcome Myia.

Tegan had brought some toys made in Africa from tin cans such as soft drinks and Jeyes fluid cans.

Everyone made toys, unfortunately I did not bring my camera so can only show Flora and Katy's joint house and garden and Ellie's pig

Whilst the modelling went on I tidied the wood pile in the Woodies Glade, as our first attempt had been too tempting to climb on and had got knocked over.

We ended with the circle song.

Cooking outside (2012-0618)

This was a very exciting session as we used the wild, fenced off portion of the playground.

We started with Circle News: Pass was the main news item, as people found talking and being outside a trial. Ellie mentioned her animation on youTube.

Tim outlined the dangers of fire and the smelly, sewage-full backwater.

Tegan fed the main fire and Debbie made Damper Dough with a group while Tim helped everyone who wanted to to light a cotton wool ball with a fire steel.

We lit a second fire and everyone cooked a damper on a stick.

Magnus' dad finished stacking the ash logs neatly, at the bottom of the pile we found a frog and a toad, which we carefully relocated.

Unfortunately we did not have time to cook the marshmallows or brew the tea!

We ended with the circle song.

World Games (2012-06-11)

We started with Circle News: Milly-Maye showed us her scar from a nail in the foot and Ilona showed us her puppy's tooth and a letter from the Dog Tooth Fairy.

We remembered the World Games we had played before and voted to start with the Handkerchief Game

The Handkerchief Game from Mexico is played in a circle, with everyone looking inwards. One person has the handkerchief and places it surreptitiously on someone's head, then runs around the circle. The wearer chases, the placer tries to sit in the wearers' place before being caught. We carried on until everyone had had at least one chase.

We voted to play the old favourite Linked Disease rather than a new fangled game next.

And then we played Octopus until we ran ourselves out of time.

We ended with the circle song.
